Our regular review of last week’s news follows below. As well as a bullish (10%) growth upgrade from the World Bank, alongside a projected 25% increase in trade this year, China has climbed to fill the number 3 position at the IMF. Other business and economic news includes exports success for Airbus and the French, and billions in FDI from Dell. On the other hand Chinese firms Huawei and ZTE are facing security concerns abroad, while internet giants Tencent and 360 engage in online warfare at home. We also note a good question about Hu Jintao’s position at the top of Forbes’ power list, the introduction of environmental taxes, and the importance of quality control inspections to anyone buying anything…
