Last week’s news, from our ChinaBlogTweets Twitter feed, has been filtered for some of the most relevant business news.

Worries about China’s business environment (for foreign businesses) continue, and state secrets and indigenous innovation are fanning the flames. Some protectionist moves perhaps, but for FDI the message is that you must comply. Of course, some strategic lobbying can assist with long-term positioning, but it is not the magic wand it once was.

Outward investment from China is also in the news, but its make-up is changing. Brands as well as mines are on the Chinese shopping list. At home the economy still has some pressures, but growth has been strong and, while banks’ reserve rations have been raised, and the property market cooled, some normality has been predicted. We will see.

In other news, Google’s former China CEO talks about some of the ways in which China business is different, we cover China’s increased innovation, provide a link to the best of Shanghai’s grand Expo project, point to Baidu’s Google-induced boost and – for those searching for ways to boost their own stock – point to China’s best business schools.
