The latest corporate news from China includes:

    DBS bank is expanding its branch network, and also buying stakes in Chinese banks and securities companies;

    Goldman Sachs (through Jade Dragon (Mauritius) Ltd.) has purchased a 2.25 percent stake in Shenzhen-based telecommunication equipment manufacturer ZTE Corp;

    Lloyds of London has finally received a license to open a reinsurance operation in China;

    Siemens will supply 300 km/h high-speed trains, for the Beijing-Tianjin railway, starting in 2008;

    Sony is the latest company opened a design center in Shanghai in order to develop products tailored to Chinas young consumers;

    Telefonica had signed a strategic agreement with China Netcom Group Corp (Hong Kong) Ltd, in which the Spanish operator already has a 5% stake.
