Don’t Quote Me (On Err…Being Quick & Decisive)

Here is a quote we picked up from Zhou Xiaochuan, Governor, People’s Bank of China, on Twitter last week. It catches the current mood nicely:

“We must err on the side of being quick and decisive.”

And it is clear from Premier Wen Jiabao’s comments this week that China is ready to do some serious erring, if needed:

“At any time, we can introduce new stimulus…We have reserved adequate ammunition”. But will it go off in a big bang, or with a lot of small arms fire?

Of course, he has a small, but sweet, salvo for the US (h/t @imagethief and WSJ: “We have lent a huge amount of money to the U.S…I do in fact have some worries.”

Oh dear…
