In association with our friends at China Contact (which is the event’s European partner), China Business Services is pleased to support the China Venture Capital Forum in London on 27-28 June, 2007.

The event is being put on by Zero2IPO Group and the China Venture Capital Association. According to the conference web site:

“2006 was a record-breaking year for the China VC&PE industry. The total VC investment created a new record of US$1.78 billion in 324 deals, showing a robust growth rate of 45% year-over-year. In addition, 45 new VC funds raised nearly US$4 billion, similar to the 2005 level, the historical high. PE investments also topped Asia (excluding Japan) with US$13 billion in 129 deals. The 39s VC/PE backed IPOs of China-based enterprises also help to persuade people that China VC and PE markets are in full swing heading towards a new era. But what all is behind the boom? How are European investors performing in China? What experience can European investors learn from the US counterparts? Is exit in Europe an alternative?

Meanwhile, some interesting changes occurred in the China venture capital industry, according to Zero2IPO Research Center. These changes included the shift of investment interests from the TMT sector to non-TMT, although TMT still received the lion’s share of investment. Moreover, we also observed that VC and PE are investing across cycles. Why? Are VC or PE investors better positioned in China?”

No doubt there will be plenty of other interesting questions raised (and answered) at the event. We look forward to seeing you there!
