From Dell Hell. To Dell Sell.

We recently reported on the things foreign companies are doing differently in China, as the recession starts to bite.

Dell has had some problems in China in the past (“Dell Hell”), but has also been innovative in expanding its reach with a low-cost offering, payment solutions and retail exposure. Dell China shipments were reported to be up 28%, so it seems they have been doing something right.

Now they are reported to be going after the rural consumer market (and fiscal stimulus benefits – and will join some hot competition (including Lenovo).

Second and third tier city consumers, and their rural counterparts, will be getting a lot of attention!
