Also worthy of note is one of the event sponsors, Oasis Hong Kong Airlines – a newcomer, with low-cost flights from the UK to Hong Kong:

OASIS HONG KONG AIRLINES begin flights to Hong Kong from London Gatwick on Thursday, October 26th 2006. This is the first airline to offer low fare flights combined with a high quality service to the Far East. (There will be a FREE Prize Draw of TEN Oasis Hong Kong Airline return flights to Hong Kong from London Gatwick airport for delegates attending the event).

“Oasis Hong Kong Airlines is dedicated to providing low fare, high quality, long-haul flights to Hong Kong from London for business and leisure travellers alike. Our outstanding fares in business class start at just GBP £470 one-way which will enable more business people in the UK to do business “face to face” in Hong Kong, China and the Far East in the future”. Stephen Miller, Chief Executive Office, Oasis Hong Kong Airlines.

I have already heard from one associate who has bought economy tickets for just £75 each way (plus taxes etc.). That is just a little bit more than it cost me to get the train to Birmingham and back the other day. The world is getting smaller!
