The First International Logistics China Congress 2006

China Business Services is pleased to announce that we will be a partner for The First International Logistics China Congress [1] (ILCC) in Beijing from October 18-20, 2006.

The Chinese transportation and logistics market has been growing at an exponential rate over the past few years, fueled by the Chinese government reforms and opening up of the market. The statistics speak from themselves:

The growth is great, but the delivery is not always efficient. A report in the China-Britain Business Review notes that logistics make up 40 percent of the cost of goods sold in China, compared to just 10 percent in the US. So there is a long way to go in terms of efficiency. More on the market can be seen in our earlier post, here [2].

The Event
ILCC will provide a unique platform that captures and present a comprehensive view about the current Chinese logistics market, its trends and investment opportunities, an accurate interpretation of the latest related government policies as well as all the major players in China.

The event is officially supported by the National Development and Reform Committee, industry associations as well as experts. ILCC is hosted by the Chinese Communication and Transportation Association (CCTA), China’s most influential government endorsed association for transportation and logistics industries. Professor Wang De Rong, Deputy Chairman of CCTA – regarded as one of the most important logistics authoritative figures in China- says:

The Congress will provide comprehensive information about policies, the industry’s investment environment, latest market trends and a “how-to-invest-guide” for foreign and domestic participants. On the foreign side, the congress is already being supported by Australian Logistics Council, The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport based in Europe, Hong Kong Logistics Council, Taiwan Logistics Associations, Korea International Trade Association, as well as business chambers of commerce. These official supporters will ensure a high quality event in terms of total concept, congress program, speakers and exhibiting companies.

The congress is built around the “3rd Annual China Logistics Top 100 Awards Ceremony”, one of the key event for Chinese logistics companies, which guarantees the presence of the senior executives from the 100 most influential Chinese logistics companies. The 10 largest top 100 enterprises in 2005 were:

For the first time, foreign transportation and logistics companies and joint ventures operating in China are invited to participate and compete for the awards in the following categories:
